November 2011:
- Welcoming America is partnering with Southern Circuit of Southern Independent Filmmakers, the Clarkston Community Center (CCC), the Georgia Chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education (GA NAME), Voices in the Treetops, and Metro Atlantans for Public Schools (MAPS) for a screening of the film Welcome to Shelbyville on November 13th. October 2011:
- Welcoming America is helping organize a “engaging immigrant host communities” track at the National Immigrant Integration Conference in Seattle, Washington (October 24-26). Click here for registration information.
- Welcoming America will also be hosting a private convening for Welcoming America affiliates in Seattle after the integration conference. If your organization is interested in becoming an affiliate, or engaging in other ways, click here for more information on how to get involved.

May-June 2011
- There were 90 community screenings of Welcome to Shelbyville in April and May of 2011 through ITVS. To learn about Welcoming America’s connection to the film, click here. - May 24th, 10:00pm, was the National Airing of Welcome to Shelbyville on PBS! The film was aired on Independent Lens. For more information on the film go to:

The event is from 4pm to 6:30pm in the Falk Auditorium at the Brookings Institution, located at 1775 Massachusetts Ave. NW in Washington, DC.
