Welcoming America's Statement on Tragedies in Pittsburgh and Louisville

Rachel Peric | October 30, 2018

We grieve with the families who lost loved ones in #Pittsburgh & #Louisville. These shootings targeted not only Jews, refugees, and African Americans, but the very idea of being a pluralistic, multiethnic democracy. We stand with our partners in Pittsburgh and Louisville, and our friends at HIAS, whose crucial work building a bridge between Jews and refugees of other faiths was also a target. The greatest threat to those who hate are efforts to build unity, which is why such work is needed now, more than ever. We call on others to join together to heal, to counter hate, and to work actively to build an inclusive future in which all people can find a safe home to belong and thrive in.
