Join us for Welcoming Week
Welcoming Week is Sept. 16-25
Connecting neighbors, serving communities
During this annual series of events, communities bring together immigrants and U.S.-born residents in a spirit of unity to raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone – including new Americans. Last year, there were 245 events in over 80 communities during Welcoming Week, with more than 22,000 people participating. Please help us make this year even bigger!
Momentum is building in the welcoming movement, and more and more communities across the United States and the world are recognizing that immigrants and refugees make our communities stronger economically, socially, and culturally.
Welcoming Week 2016 Scheduled Events
Find an Event
We are still planning our event but we want to engage the community around discussion on inclusion and diversity, We also want to understand from the community how our YMCA can be more inclusive for our members and the community.
Sip tea as we take your palate on a journey to East Africa! Prepare and explore savory dishes, with a balance of spices to whet your taste buds, enjoy lively conversation and banter, as the pots sizzle and delicious finger foods that leave you asking for more!
Host an Event
We rely on you, our local partners, to make Welcoming Week a success. Host a festival, a cooking class, a joint service project, anything that encourages connectivity and welcoming.
