Embracing Newcomers - Wichita Welcoming Week

Welcoming Week is a time for community organizations, partners and allies to bring together our City's Citizens and Newcomers in a spirit of unity, build strong connections, and affirm the benefits of welcoming everyone. Businesses and refugee/immigrant service organizations will have exhibitor tables, and be invited to highlight a program that welcomes newcomers to Wichita. Presenters will include refugees and immigrants who will be invited to tell what was most helpful to them when they arrived, unmet needs, and their current needs. Food, drink and entertainment will be available throughout the evening

In 2018, there were over 2,000 events in 400 communities during Welcoming Week, with more than 80,000 people participating and over 14 million social media impressions.

By hosting a Welcoming Week Event in Wichita, the Immigration Support Services Network (ISSN) will join a movement of communities across the globe who recognize that being a welcoming community for all makes us stronger economically, socially, and culturally.

Join us on September 19, 2019, for a showcase of how the City of Wichita is welcoming its Newcomers!
