"Eyes Closed" Ribbon Cutting | Welcoming America

"Eyes Closed" Ribbon Cutting

As the kick-off event for Anchorage's 2018 Welcoming Week, Mayor Ethan Berkowitz will cut the ribbon for the “Eyes Closed” Project., at 5:45 p.m. in Peratrovich Park, 500 West 4th Avenue, on Friday, September 14th.  The project, facilitated by Keys to Life, consists of sixteen 4’ x 8’ panels that feature the images of local children from culturally diverse communities, several of whom are from refugee and immigrant families. The panels feature the hopes and dreams of the participating children, and their aspirations for their future and the future of Anchorage.  The panels will be located in public spaces around Anchorage for one year. The ribbon cutting will feature a Samoan dance performance and light refreshments.

A short film about the project will premier First Friday in November, at the Museum.
