Hero of La Historia Chicana: The Life and Art of Jesse Treviño | Welcoming America

Hero of La Historia Chicana: The Life and Art of Jesse Treviño

Join Our Lady of the Lake University as we celebrate the life and art of Jesse Treviño as captured by Anthony Head, biographer of Treviño’s artistic legacy. Head, Treviño’s biographer, will discuss his recent book on Treviño's work followed by conversation on the book along with the artist himself. Mr. Treviño was born in Monterrey, Mexico, moved to San Antonio as a child, served in the Vietnam War, and returned to his hometown to produce some of San Antonio's most iconic public art.

This event is sponsored by OLLU's Center for Mexican American Studies and Research, Alumni and Family Relations Office, and the Sister Elizabeth Anne Sueltenfuss Library.
