We are also excited to feature the exhibition, Refuge or Refusal for its Decatur debut at this event!

Created by the Museum of History and Holocaust Education at Kennesaw State University in 2018, Refuge or Refusal is a view into five key moments which emerged as turning points in U.S. immigration policy. The exhibit explores the impact of these turning points and the factors that influenced them, from global conflicts and economic conditions to cultural trends and social aspirations. In collaboration with CivicGeorgiaRefuge or Refusal will continue on display in Decatur after the Welcoming Week Kickoff at the Toco Hill branch of DeKalb County Public Library through mid-October.

Local events are the heart and soul of Welcoming Week, and they help build stronger communities by bringing together new and long-time residents. Celebrate Welcoming Week, and show the world how your community welcomes everyone, from every background and demographic. We look forward to celebrating with you and spending time with our neighbors!
